Hello Sailor Soccer Tribe,
Week #1 was furious, fast, and fun! Lots of moving pieces so let's all, (players, parents, and coaches) focus on supporting each other as we charge forward into week #2.
A quick wrap of week one:
CS=up-i
This is a formula that we introduced throughout the week with the intention of pursuing a PB (Personal Best) and CS (Championship Season).
Championship Season = ultimate performance - interference
Everything we do there is the possibility of interference getting in the way of our personal best - negative attitude, poor sleep, poor training habits, poor nutrition, depression, poor grades, wrong equipment, and on, and on. (some interference is out of our control; we will focus on what is in our control)
As players, coaches, and parents if we all work to support each other to eliminate as much interference as possible we can we will have that Championship Season! Through personal accountability, accountability partners, team, and tribe we will introduce tools, methods, and training throughout the season to help eliminate interference.
This Week
1. It's going to be a cold one. Please plan accordingly. (not dressing properly for training outdoors in 22 degrees = interference)
2. We are looking to hold a Tribal Potluck dinner this Friday, for all players and parents, to officially kick off our season. As coaches, we will also use this time to further discuss our season plan, and answer questions in a live face-to-face environment. Details to follow.
2. Big picture = we have 57 players participating this season. THIS IS AWESOME! Our Tribe will consist of a Varsity Team and 2 JV Teams. We are currently working on adding additional JV/Freshmen games and will get this on the schedule ASAP. Please note that scheduling these games is reliant on finding other programs that also have large participation numbers. Back with more.
3. After today's practice we will be communicating with players as to the team formations. Then beginning Tuesday we will start holding 1-on-1 meetings with each player to discuss their roles and develop a road map for their PB!
Here's to a great WEEK #2.
